Sugar Cane is a Japanese brand focusing on reconstructing the early days of vintage workwear history. The brand has roots that goes back to the 1950's but it wasn't until the late 80's that Sugar Cane started building the reputation for being one of the best denim makers in Japan. It is a reputation they still deserve!

These trousers have the classic look of early 20'th century workwear and are cut with a high waist and wide legs. They have a button fly, a chinch in the back that can be used to adjust the width, belt loops and five pockets. They are constructed with a 9oz black covert fabric. This fabric is fabricated and dyed just like antique fabrics and since they will age just like vintage fabrics. The exterior stitching is made with black thread witch give these pants a more dressed look. On the inside of the pant a red thread is used and this will give a nice detail if you roll the pants at the wrist. Sugar Cane has also paid attention to the buttons and the have been made to look antique in a beautiful way already. 

The fabric is made by twisting a black and a white thread prior to the weaving, giving the fabric an uneven color and that's also the reson for this fabric to be referred to "salt n pepper" fabric.
